Chameleons of this species are among the largest species in size. Males reach a length of up to 52 cm and females up to 35 cm. But when breeding in terrariums, they reach this size only with an optimally balanced diet, plenty of water, minerals, vitamins and calcium. Individual species of chameleons of the genus Furcifer pardalis differ in size, color and place of residence (locality). They are very adaptable creatures.

They like warm and humid climates, temperatures around 22 to 28 degrees Celsius. In Madagascar, it lives up to about 40 degrees in summer and then likes to cool off in the shade of trees and shrubs. Humidity is about 70 to 90% in some places 100%.

Food

He is active all day. They hunt insects and other animals, which they catch by shooting a sticky tongue. It can also be 30 cm long. Depending on the size of the chameleons, the food consists of different developmental stages of insects.Crickets, locusts, cockroaches, Zoophobas sp., Wax larvae, flies, etc.
